Our goal here is simple
to provide a comfortable environment for artists and those who enjoy art to interact.

People have often asked who is behind this site, so I've written this little tome to cover the basic info:

My name is Glenn. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, but I've lived my adult life in New York City and New Jersey. I also spent about a year in Europe — just bumming around. Lived in Spain most of that time. When I returned to the States, I wasn't prepared for any sort of career (I put off working for a living as long as humanly possible).

In college I was a philosophy major, which says something about the intensity of my ambition. :-) Anyway, finding myself with no job skills, I naturally decided to pursue a career in advertising — it seemed more secure than bank-robbing, but I was wrong.

After knocking on many doors, I eventually broke into Madison Avenue, serving as a copywriter at agencies such as DMB&B and Young & Rubicam. After a while I even became a Creative Director at a few, including Saatchi & Saatchi, which just goes to show that, in America, with a little luck, anyone can grow up to be a pompous jerk.

Being a writer by trade, 3D computer graphics is new to me. I first became interested when visiting a website called digitalblasphemy. It was there I discovered the magical effects that are possible.

Many long serious books have been written on the subject, but for me the software seem like toys. Creating 3D art is like a game. I struggle for a while to figure out the process and then WHAM — the results never fail to surprise me.

I always have to rush off to show somebody. "Hey, look what I just did!" To me that's what 3D rendering is all about. It makes me feel like a kid.
