Hi all,
This is merely a suggestion, on some thoughts I had. I have noticed that this gallery really does do a lot of traffic. It would appear on the surface at least that most of the traffic is people posting their images, and not participating in the community part of this gallery. I feel one thing that you lack from some of the other galleries is a tutorial section. Putting the tutorials in the forums is not in my opinion the best approach. I'll tell you why. When you have a tutorial section, the tutorials stay in that spot forever for the other artists to refer back to whenever neccesary. When an artist especially a new user comes across a stumbling block and can't figure out what is meant by the author of the tut... The first place they will post their question is gonna be in that software specific forum. Once people start asking how to questions, people will be able to answer. At that point you have a dialog. Once diaolg has been established you will have people posting off topic stuff from time to time, then you have a real message forum. It's the one major difference from this community, and some of the more thriving communities. It's what makes then successful. this is just a suggestion, so please don't smack me upside the head with a wet fish for stating my opinion :froggy:
Please tell me what you think though. btw I would be happy to be a regular contributer to the Bryce forum if you did so... I have another suggestion, but I'll post that in another thread, as this one is becoming very very long winded :nana:

That's a very good suggestion, there, thanks. Some of the forums do have their own tutorial section, but this is largely the responsibility of the moderator in charge of that forum to set up, as we currently don't have enough moderators to cover all the forums we have! But it is a good idea to have a specific section where all the tutorials are located, and I will look into seeing what can be done about setting one up in the next week or so.

Yup, I have to agree on this one too! We have someone in our Mixed Medium Forum who has just started a tutorial string on making a painting from start to finish using a matte technique, and I am thrilled to bits that this has happened, but ultimately it would be good for it to go into a proper Tutorial section so that anyone doing that sort of thing, say in photography, or other sections too, would know just where to look. At the moment it's great where it is, as it is mixed medium orientated primarily, but not necessarily restricted to just that...
