Art of Illusion free

It is for Windows, Mac and Linex
Some of what it is

Art of Illusion is a free, open source 3D modelling and rendering studio. It is written entirely in Java, and should be usable on any Java Virtual Machine which is compatible with J2SE 1.4 or later.

The current version is 2.1, released June 14, 2005. This version is both stable and powerful enough to be used for serious, high end animation work. Many of its capabilities rival those found in commercial programs. Some of the highlights include subdivision surface based modelling tools, skeleton based animation, and a graphical language for designing procedural textures and materials.

Check out the link and the art gallery does animations also.....maybe fun to try......

plus check out there links page some good free programs there also Here (http://www.artofillusion.org/links)

That looks like an interesting program, but I don't think modeling is for me. But there were some lovely pics in the gallery!

Your probably right , getting it installed is one thing another to use it... after seeing there gallery of what it could do and seeing images made with it at another site I was impressed enough to download it....... now not sure what the other 2 are like still have to check those out.... most of this one is something like wings that is used in making characters or used to be. my thinking was if possble learn this one and make props for poser.... I think they have more then enough people making textures and certainly character makers are in abundance...but still would lov eone day to try one, just not enough time for much with the site like nowjust finished the last 8 hours working on stationery for the site. Now I am going to play
