It is out and for anyone wanting it try this link
courtesty of T here (http://www.woosie.net/apophysis/apophysis202z.zip)
there are a few other sites plus we have it personally just yell if you need help.......
Now I will say it will be replaced some time in the next few months by the normal channels of Apophysis..... but you really need to try this one just to check out all the benefits of it...... More then likely some if not most will be incorporated into the newer version of Apophysis when it does come out.
Enjoy ...... and Thanks T for hosting the download to it.....

After trying to use the new Ao 202z I would say wait for the new version of the original Apo 2 more weeks. Is all. while some like the changes in z for me personally only I do not care for it. its a personal choice only.

And you chose very well. In fact this new version is worst then the last Z. The changes in some tools affect dramactly the quality of the images, but I think that most part of the users don't care about quality, they like is the new toys for playing.
He reduce the scale of brigthness in the Ajust window from 0 - 100 to 0 - 10 this have a bad impact in the brightness of the flame, because there are some flames that stay only with a good light with 20, 30 or more values of the brightness, because they are a darkness flame. This is only one example of the changes that affect the image.
But don't worry I know that this changes don't came with the new version from Ron and utak, only the good things.

Thanks Pakar you know I unsubscribed from the list I got so upset on all these people saying how great this program was, when I've used the regular Apo for 5 years now , like you I like mine big, bold and tons of details which I can not do with this version.....so for now I'll keep using (i) version until the new one does come out, please let me know when it does you can start a new thread when it is released and where to get it at....
By the way what under display what settings do you use.
It would be interesting for others to see what we all use may help new people getting the right affects and details plus colors they want to use ..
Let's Share that information
Here is mine tell me if I need to change any

I think maybe don't was a good idea you unsubscribe the list because what the others saying about the new Version Z, you don't have to give credit to this people and let they bored you.
What I know is the next realesed of the new version ( call 2.03a ) from Ron and utak and now the Zueuk is this month on 12, if I member well.
I use the Version I with this settings:
Rendering
quality - 50
gamma - 4
brightness - 4
vibracy - 2
oversample - 2
filter radius - 0.3
Preview density
low quality - 0.5
medium quality - 2
high quality - 5
My suggestion for you is if you wont a more clean and vivid image on the main screen when you are tweak a flame you have to change the values of your preview density for a more high values.
You don't get a big difference, but sometimes or many times the small differences are important.

wow that high, I think the highest I've used was a 35 quality
I'll have to try your settings see what happens...I know I have been having tons of problems with gradients lately seems they are really grainy so I adjust it in the Gradient window.....
Thanks Pakar I will certainly try them..... plus the one you sent me on how to do it. each time I ended up with 4 triangles not 3 but did use the best lighted one. Still didn't come close to looking like yours, do I have to change my trianges to 3 instead of 4 and then use your information???
Let me know at home if you want or here.
As far as the list I just got tired of people talking about nothing. I don't know I may subscribe again...... but I will mark my calender for Oct 12
Thanks again...

As you know I am very new to I.T. and I must admit I|like the friendly atmosphere here.
I am the worlds least technical person. I subscribe to the Apo list but find most of it is completely over my head and it does not encourage me to post what I feel are "stupid" questions - I have over time asked these questions off list to the friends I have made.
I think, like Carolyn we want to create images that we enjoy and hope that others will also enjoy).
I greatly admire the technical ability of the creators of Apo -without them we would not have this wonderful freeware - but maybe we don't want change for changes sake.
I have learnt more from Pakar today than I have in a long time - friendly straightforward advice. I also admire the straight talking advice from the Fracfan forum
As for the new z version - I do not like it at the moment but I think when the best elements are incorporated with Apo2.02i we will have an even better program to work from.
Oops I have rambled on haven't I ?
Thanks for "listening"

I use the following settings... and I think my work speaks for itself... lol!
Rendering
quality - 25
gamma - 4
brightness - 4
vibrancy - 2
oversample - 2
filter radius - 0.2
Preview density
low quality - 1
medium quality - 8
high quality - 15
I find that with these settings, the dust tends to render into some quite nice detail when I render with the following settings...
Quality = 1000
Filter Radius = 0.2
Oversample = 2
Resolution = 1280x960 (or 1024x1024 for square images)

Thank you Judi and welcome to the Fractal Forum and welcome to IT, I hope to see you post more in here in the forum , that is also the reason I came here I like the friendliness of IT just so many nice people here
Plus your not rambling so don't ever think you are like you we do have alot of great people here I know I just got fed up with the list so I unsubscribed like you said you learn more either here or FracFun then you do on the list.
Pakar is an excellent artist and much can be learned from him, thank fully he does share alot here also. So does T. if you haven't tried her Tut on Funky Flames see that thread and the tut is now in the free section where you can download as a zip file.... Thanks To T even having her own site she is an asset to this site as well and is also very helpful......
So if you have any questions just list it here I normally check 3 or 4 times a day your always welcome to start a new thread any time we're all here to enjoy, learn and just have fun, especially posting and not being hassled as in most sites one posts at.
Also another thing if you want to post 3 images a day it is only $24.95 per year where most sites as in Rendo charges $5.00 per month which is way more then here. For me I just like the friendliness here people seem to care more here and we don't allow any abusive comments the way we work it here is if anyone has a suggestion its to be done via personal messaging or in the forum area. Suggestions are given only if the person asks for help or a critque of there posting.... even then we prefer it be done in the two methods listed.
Thanks for stopping by and like I said please feel free to join in, in any thread listed in the main fractal forum section.
take care and again thanks for stopping by I really would like your input on any of the threads.

Thanks T I appreciate you posting your settings I know I do lol.... I can't believe how in the world mine got off from what I used to use. at one time I used to us 30 or 35 as quality under the display option .. so now sharing our settings will certainly help others is making there own choices on what they prefer I think it also has a lot to do with what results we want in the end.. so yours are very helpful as is everyone else who has posted there information....... Thanks T much appreciated.
