RON HAS CHOSEN THE THEME FOR OCTOBER CHALLENGE,

AND IT IS....

(fanfare)

******* "MOUNTAIN LAKES" *******

RULES:

1) No postwork on the renders except for resizing, level adjustment, sharpening. No external objects whatsoever.

2) Up to THREE images for each artist.

3) IMPORTANT!!!!! There is a poll in progress in the thread about how you want the images to be judged: by Revenant as the last time or in a normal voting with each one of us having a vote to cast (or maybe more than one). If I am the judge, I won't partecipate, just like the last time, but I will anyway upload an "inspiration" image, which is to remain out of the contest. PLEASE VOTE ON THE POLL!

4) The winner will CHOOSE THE THEME FOR THE NEXT OFFICIAL I.T. TERRAGEN CONTEST!

5) You may begin to upload your images from october 12th, and the last images must be online on october 27th. Then it depends on how the poll on the judging will go (I will post later the voting period, if any).

6) For any questions please use this thread, and I'll try and answer a.s.a.p. (but note that on saturdays and sundays I am not online).

GOOD WORK!!!!!!!

Given the thread on who's judging on this challenge is closed, the poll stated, 6 votes for and 3 against, that I will be the judge of this OCTOBER TERRAGEN CHALLENGE. I hope to be a worthwile judge.

well you better be lol:) and you know what I already posted in the closed thread I think I am still kicking and screaming around here but did get 3 done not the best but certainly not the worst either. well at least I don't think they are lol......... and at least I'm contributing.

You mentioned critising or did you mean Crituque an image? I think if its done in a friendly manner yes to a point, making helpful suggestions never hurts I don't like them myself though.lol.....Especially after I have spent a full 3 days and a lot of hair pulling to get them done. I came darn close to uninstalling Terragen.. guess that should give you an ideal of what I've been through. Seriously Terragen for me is just for fun nothing more, so maybe I should not be entering any challenges..... OH well your getting this time.

:juggle:
and yes i'm still juggling :smooch:

How comes I didn't notice your last post, Carolyn.
Don't worry, everyone should post in the TG challenge, because technique and skill aren't the only ways to judge an image for me. It is also a matter of mood, feelings and good ideas. More: your images are really good, for one that takes the program for fun! So maybe simply having fun with it will take you even higher. We are not all equal in how we learn things.
And, last, criticism must be aimed at helping people getting better in what they do, and always gentle, polite, and sometimes private (PM are just for it), so I think no one will be upset if I give them a bit of an advice, but that's all. When I see an image I don't like, I don't comment it! :)

Hi Rev, not to be concerned I don't even think I've received a notice yet for your comment, anyway for me unfortunately the harder I try the worse it turns out and this is with any program not just Terragen, sure I would like to be able to have the time to really learn it correctly but I don't and i know you know this, some renders take 2 to 5 days for me I just can not tie up my computer that long. so I do what I can with Terragen I doubt seriously if any one of my images have ever ran over an hour , but this new version seems to render a lot faster. Have you seen this or is it just me:)

Have a great day at work

take care
Carolyn :boogie:

YEs, Carolyn, it looks like it's a bit faster!
Oh, and dont' worry, rendering time is not a guarantee of image beauty!!! You should have seen how many of my images turned crap after ten hours or more of rendering time!!! :D
