Reminiscing...

I have recently been revisiting all of my stored Apophysis renders. I have pretty much every image I've ever created stored on a hdd on another PC - about 10 gigabytes worth in fact! (and all of the .flame parameters to go with them)

It's definitely interesting to walk down memory lane and see how one has evolved over time. There is some truly terrible stuff there, and also quite a few "wow factor" images... lol!

I can definitely see a trend towards the styles that I prefer nowadays - and I can see that I'm definitely getting better at getting more detail, and more flowing images...

All in all a pretty satisfying endeavour methinks...

How many of you fine artists revisit your older works?

I know I do all the time, I may have a different style now from when I first started but for sure the old styles are so rich and just plain gorgeous.

I hate to admit this but there are some I have actually forgotton on how to make them lol... how awful but true.

I've seen a great change in your fractal work T... and I must admit you have certainly mastered Apophysis... but don't you like all the details and just in general the depth and solidness of the original styles just as well if not better then some of the newer one??? :blowkiss: I still love the oldies, they just have so much "class" to them......

I would really like to see you post more of those styles here. I think it would be an asset to the gallery , site and to those who are just starting out. :blowkiss: :clap:

I do, well sorta, I have most of it on my website. Although I took off the majority of the large pics and only left thumbs. Oh well My old work was el crapo! lol I should take it all down! Just leave new stuff.

I have been wanting a place to put up something like you have T. but just can not do it. I do like the idea LouAnn but heck like I said they'll steal even the thumb nail especially on our site.

I'm with you on the "how the heck did I do that" factor on some of my earlier works... frustrating isn't it?

Good thing that I keep all of the .flame files for all of my works... I can revisit and play more with them if I wish... lol!

As for posting my images here or at other places... how the heck do I choose only one (or even 3) per day to post? I have thousands of the darned things!!! That's why I have my own privately hosted gallery - I can upload as many images as I want to there... besides, I can't even remember what day it is most of the time - let alone what time I uploaded something to whatever gallery, so I know when I can upload the next one... the bane of being a shiftworker... hahaha!

I tell you what Carolyn - if you want to pick some of my works that you'd like to see displayed in the gallery here - let me know which ones and I'll set up a schedule to get them uploaded here... sound fair? I reckon that you are a pretty good judge of what a great flame is... I'm biased, I love nearly all of my stuff too much to have to choose... lol!

I know it isn't easy, and yes the limit is 1 per day 3 per day with a subscription of $24.95 I believe..

I certainly don't mine helping choose some of the ones I would like to see posted here. In fact I can check out your new gallery post on your site and send you a list. If that works okay for you.. I'll be glad to do it

lol now if you can do us all a favor when the new Apo comes out please list the link for it. I have check Sourve Forge and don't see the new one yet. I will continue to check but just in case. I miss it, let me know via e-mail also.

Thanks T and no problem I don't mind at all. I hope I choose a good varity for you now as you make new ones you'll have a good idea , course I'm not like you I think all my work is terrible...... lol.. I'd say half of what I make never gets posted

Hahaha... less than half of what I create gets any airing...

It's not that a lot of my renders suck... it's more like I have to try to select the best of the bunches to display... but some of them do suck nonetheless (but a lot less than I used to have suck)

I am definitely grateful to you for taking the time to help me select images that would appeal to the fine folks here - you are a wonderful woman Carolyn!

Not to mention that without your help and encouragement when I was very new to Apophysis, I certainly would never have been able to grow as an artist and have the skills I now draw on to create my art... THANK YOU so much for being there when one scared and confused newbie cried for some help... you will always be my mentor!

Yes you have become a fine artists one I myself admire me I just do whatever, lately I haven't been able to concentrate on much. Infact I've been sleeping so much seems like I sleep more then I do any work around here. The weather is turning here getting cooler soon winter will be here so that does have a lot to do with it.. I am glad I was able to get you starter , to me I enjoy helping people out, gosh I can't tell you how many I have helped who are now all much better then I am, what it is is just giving a person some confidence they can do it and once you do , everyone fines ther own style. But thank you so very much its nice to see someone appreciates my initial help. Now up ward and on ward.

Well... I've gone and bought myself a subscription to this wonderful site - and have started uploading some of my fractals to the gallery...

I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed creating them...

The first 3 uploads show some diversity to say the least... lol!
