UPDATE ?? December Challenge's

I was thinking come December to have 2 challenges.

The regular one chosen by Novembers winner and an additional one for Christmas

If we do what about limiting the Christmas challenge to 1 image. or would you prefer the same rules..

Frankly on the Christmas one I thought about allowing any thing being used. post work, etc, but a basic program has to be a fractal program.
other rules mainly those already used in the regular challenge would apply.




Okay now how about some Suggestions or ideas WHAT SAY YOU !!

Two challenges in December for me is fine. One normal and the other a Special Christmas Challenge with post work.
Who don't wont post work don't do. :)
I think that the winner of November challenge could choose other theme for the normal challenge.
The number of pics, is fine, 2 and 1.
It was nice that all participants on the Christmas Challenge tell what post work they do on the image.

I agree with Pakar... a special Christmas themed challenge as well as the normal December challenge would work fine...

I also agree that the special challenge should allow postwork - as long as the submitters note what postwork has been done to their image(s)...

I reckon that we have a few very fine artists that would do extremely well in such a challenge, and I'd really be looking forward to seeing such works!

Unless we get something for them to have for a prize two challenges seems like alot. Im just about worn out trying to do stuff in all the challenges. I manage 1 pic if Im lucky in most.. two is alot, but a winter or christmas theme is nice idea..

I don't know about offering prizes other than recognition for a job well done... I think that would lend a whole new aspect to a challenge that may not be for the best.

I'm just happy to get a few votes from my fellow artists for any of my images in any challenges - you have no idea how my little ego swelled when I managed a tied 3rd place in the September challenge... lol! God only knows how excited I could get if I actually won one... errr!

I don't need a prize as an incentive to submit my works to challenges at this fine site - but I tend to stick mainly to the Fractal challenge only. I can see a problem for people who are entering multiple challenges every month... I don't know how you do it - I seriously don't think I have the talent to work in many different genres myself...

Well my thought at this point is to go ahead with a special Christmas challenge running along side the normal December Challenge As for allowing post work I may have to pull back on that part, because if we did any post work, then I am sure it may be classified as a Mixed Medium and I would not want any misunderstandings.....

This is designed to have some much needed fun and a few laughs.. I can also see Wile1's point, like her I frankly am about challenged out myself

However this is the fractal forum and challenges will go on. If nothing else I will participate in obviously this forums challenges. plus Poser :)@Wile1

I will suggest a Christmas theme to the November Winner, however if the winner choose's another theme we will do both but 1 image per poster of a Christmas theme and no post work, as much as I would like to see some I think we should stay straight fractal program. you guys are all very creative so I don't feel there will be a problem. if there is speak up now??

I don't feel a prize is necessary when it comes to Fractalists most are either yes or no type people, a Fracatlist knows there is normally no prizes.

Not a bad idea for the future but I think lets keep this one as we all know Fractal Challenges to be. :blowkiss:

It is a possibility that can be used since I do have one made up that anyone can make anything with easy for beginners and enteresting for those who have been using Apo for a long time...... mmmmm not a bad idea....

Better yet I will take lets say about 12 flames in a new starter set and let you guys all go for that one. You'll have to list the starter flame number though. 1 through 12... or would you prefer only 6 flames.... how about I also provide say 12 different gradients. All would be Christmas type Colors

The only problem I really forsee is not everyone uses Apo even as a second program....or even dabbles in Apo :( :disbelief ........ so that would be leaving some out and I would not want to do that :raincloud . I'll do some checking and get back to everyone some time much later today :sherlock:

I do stress fractal program. 1 image. as it is I think there will be more then enough challenges going on and i don't want to over load people as it is we're pretty much over loaded with challenges....

Yep that is about the way it is going Pakar but all will be NO POST WORK
sorry I wished we could but I don't want problems if some go over board and end up being a MM image.

Fractols are on program that other than signature and frame really don't need any postwork. I agree with this.

However Poser is a different story. It doesn't make it a mixed medium to do postwork if the bulk of it is done in Poser. What it does is helps fix those problem areas. All poser is not perfect. The characters can't bend and look like a real human, so a litle softening maybe touching up hair etc. is always a necessity, adding lights to even some tint etc. But its usually minimal. So I think post work on any poser is alright, If you make a poser pic, put it on a backround you made in another program then it becomes mixed medium. If you put it on a freebie bg or none at all or the bg isn't prominant then its not.

As I started reading this thread I had a number of issues to speak on, however it seems that after all the comments it is back to the original Xmas Fractal Challenge, which is fine be me....A December Challenge 2 images and a single image for Xmas Challenge..just hope I can find the time with so many challenges going on right now and my upcoming Cataract surgeries...next week and again at the end of November....plus trying to cope with all the usual Xmas stuff.... :work: :rolleyes:

It is, I realize a difficult time of the year to be adding even 1 additional image on a Christmas Theme, Maybe we could limit the main challenge to 1 and christmas to 1.....

we'll see how things go in the mean time just take care of yourself get those eyes back to where you can make your wonderful creations. :hug:

Question to everyone

How do you feel being that the holidays are celebrated around the world
and everyone is normally totally overwhelmed......

Would you rather have 1 image for the Main December Challenge
and 1 image for the Christmas Challenge

Or leave it as it...........

My opinion is that you leave it as it was.
The 2 pics for the Main Challenge of December, means the number maximum that each member can upload and not a obligation. If someone can't or don't wont upload 2 don't do it, just upload one.
In the first Challenge I only upload 1 pic, because I had busy in my work and don't had time to make the sencond pic.
