Just spent the last two hours working on several flames using the funky flame thing and saved them then exported in the newer version and lost them... they exported as the dots and not the dang picture... Sniffles...and they were so pretty too!!!

Ok what did I do wrong :))) ehehe... I know it was something cause i have a few that I've done the same way and they all saved correctly...

waves to everyone, have a great week....

Pat,

Did you use any of the new transform variations in any of your exported flames?

Are you using Flam3 as your export rendering application?

If the answer is "yes" to both of the above - that's where the problem lies...

Flam3 cannot render the new variations (blob, pdj, fan2, rings2, and eyefish) yet... give it about a week for the guys to release a new version of Flam3 that will cope with the new variations, OK?

In the meantime, you might want to use the Render to Disk finction for any flames that use those new variations...

It wasn't anything you did, OK? Just a little development backlog... lol!

Ok Carolyn let me try to help you, and tell me what you do when you try to save your parameters.
I know that render to the disk. what is the folder that you save your images and/or parameters? Did you created a folder or subfolders for your parameters? If you wont email me all your setps for saving parameters.

same I always do and I did verify that is what was listed in the path for saving parameters nothing had changed

and no they all go into one folder then I move them manually.
after each render why because in many cases I do want to work on that same flame again.

It is working now , at this point I need more help in posting parameters for a tweak flame... the ones I have in tweak fest work fine for Ron but others can't use it. see that thread Pakar please....... then e-mail me at home I know it has to be be something simple on this stuff I am just learning along with others.. thanks

Used Apophysis the newest one, and it did give that error message at first then rendered fine. I rendered the day I got it four of them, and all did fine. Just when I did the funky flame thing in it ... thats when it went wonky on me. :( Exported as a 'dots' picture, thats all that showed on the finished version.

I will be testing it again tonight and if it still happens, will go back to the original. :) maybe I did something wrong, but I did save the parameters first then rendered, so hopefully it's still there... :)

A tutorial done by ... eeks .. vos??? or td... not sure who did it but it's a step by step instruction to a neat effect... I know Carolyn has the link :)))) And Carolyn, and everyone I found it again, but ... when I rendered it, it has a transparent background, so gonna try to rerender it in 2.02 :)

If you want to render WITH the background intact in Apo 2.03a, there is a checkbox on the General tab in the Options screen that tells Apo to use No Transparency for PNG renders - works for me...

As for rendering flames in Apo 2.03a - the Export function (pointed at Flam3 for rendering) will not recognise the new variations of blob, pdj, fan2, ring2, or eyefish - if your flame has any of those variations, the Export renderer will give strange results...

Tracey is right which for myself I do just the opposite because for what I do I do want a solid background. ............ see how many ways something can be done now for me I'm just waiting for the new flame update that should work with this new version... hopefully

and guys big H posted another flame in the other forum if anyone wants to play more. :)
