This is where one person posts a flame the next person takes that flame and makes something out of the parameters s on and so one. You can in most cases add to the flame or if you want another Tweak we can post parameters to copy and paste into Apo and make something out of the parameters.....

I don't know why it worked for Ron but it also has the color in it that maybe the problem I don't know I do know I have all unchecked in options variations from fisheye down and also have hyberbolic unchecked. try with these settings in option variations

try this one but remember what I have un checked use your mutation window and it at 0.11

also on these if you have your gradient set on random the color won't come in correctly
try changing it to use current under options gradients
then run your mutation window choose one you like also adjust your lighting this one will be dark.

looks like I am off to find out how to do these correctly
but give it a try even with just what I have listed under each triangle you should be able to come darn close ..... let me know ok and no yelling lol I'm learning some of this also.

Try cutting down on the number of triangles...that could be the problem.

I was trying to post using 2.02 - so that it would work for every one .
I think if some one uses 2.02 z or 2.03a it might not work in 2.02 .

Any way it does not matter .

Carolyn there is no problem with the two parameters that you have post, I copy and past in the new version and the two are ok. I only have to brigth the grad. that was a little dark.

I think bigH is talking about trying to post his parameters here in the forum... too many characters for the board software...

bigH - try editing your parameter file to look like the ones that Classylady has posted (remove the extra gradient info lines) - you should be able to post it then, OK?

Or, just select Copy from Apo's Edit menu, and then Paste into your message here... the Copy function in the newer versions of Apo will be in the style that Carolyn has posted above... if you use Save Parameters, Apo includes the extra gradient info which is only needed for older versions of Apo.

Congratulations that is it only thing is the color check your gradient options and choose the middle one (current) it should come out blue and white :ta-da:

Also if you want to save the gradient in the gradient window right click it will give you a choice of saving it as a map file or you save it into your own .ugr see above example

Yes by all means I forgot to let you all know please post your image here
but lets do keep it at no larger then 100kb's to be save you should be able to go 640 x 400 I believe....

Also I picked up a ton of starter flames and gradients. however since I have not read any of the read me's if you want them please e-mail me at home and I'll send them to you this time most were gotton from Rendo Fractal Free Stuff........But for those that don't want the hassle just e-mail me at home classyladytwo@comcast.net or you can also use help1@r-windham.com

I also have some from Devian Art and as for my own starter flames I do have tons I just need to get them together I was hoping to also include gradients but that may not be possible at the moment.


Also if anyone else wants to share there starter flames which are your parameters and or Gradients Please upload them into the freebee section here at IT and list a link to them in this forum or list an e-mail address we all can ask for them at, if you have site please list the links......if they are your own.. Also if you do not want to share the original I frankly would not blame anyone I would change it slightly and post an image of what the original one looked liked so we have an idea of what to shot for.

Also if you want to save the gradient in the gradient window
Do the Following for those that do not know.


Example : In saving to your own .ugr
right click on the gradient itself save as a gradient another window will open bottom line name it on the top line make sure you have a path set up you can call it anything .ugr example My1.ugr and each time you want to save a gradient just keep adding them into My1.ugr much easier then saving as a map file.. I'll post an example...also you can play with the rotate click on rotate you can lighten it , darken it even change the hues on it.Just remember this is basics for saving for now those you like the best to work with In time we can go over how to make them which can be done with a generator there are two listed in the Links Thread or there is also another way that one we'll save for now. :w00t:

mmmmmmm very strange because I copied them first into notepad then took them back into apo and they worked fine I tested each one before point it.. wonder what would cause that... do you think its my parameters or could it be apo. okay on the 2 of bigH...as I explained I did tweak them both tremendously. But they both are from his flames I just tweaked the heck out of them is all had to if I wanted anything to show...

now on the original one of his did you get anything but a messy screen? see I did all I got was nothing but a batch render mutation etc on his two. now what they really were I have no idea. that is why I said please post all clean flames finished nothing but clean flames. Now I have no idea how they looked on his computer but on mine no way did anything show. so I tweaked the heck out of them. I am sure they were fine for him but for me no, so now the question is why aren't each one showing the sam eon each computer. mmmm I have no idea I know I need to reformat badly and that maybe causing some of my problems. and why I had to tweak his to death.

mmm you say above I am wondering if your seeing the last post first. or vic versa if so then we need to have you change your viewing of a thread which you can so each time you come in you see first the very last post anyone posted. there is a threa I believ in oh darn Angela which thread was it annoucements or suggestions that you told Kansas how to change her viewing. I agree we need to make two new threads.

what we could do is... we could post like this:

If you want to post one of your own flames.. for people to play with and see what they come up with, (and this is what I have been doing)...

take a screen shot of your flame in a medium size window (not so big), upload it for posting.. post it, and then without touching it at all in Apo, copy the parameter and paste it under the image. This way, people see first what it looks like, then they can copy and paste it into the program.

Carolyn said, post clean flames, I take this to mean clean and sharp, plus don't do any scripts.. just manipulate the grads and work with the transform editor.

ok.. now so we can know whose flame is whose. If we want to do a flame fest... name your flame like this maybe - flamefest_sass_no.1
the person copying it, do not change the name except maybe to put it like this - flamefest_sass_no.1_redo. This name will show up in the parameters in the first line... when you post them and we can all see whose it is.

Now, the person copying another's flame... when you are ready to post it to the forum... you could... post the original flame image, then your rendition and your parameters.

This could be done in one thread.. In the other thread is where we ask questions.

No I'm on linear myself but if you have to go to the last page to see the last post then you may want to change it. I'll fine that thread and post it here plus it is a good idea we post in one thread and comment in another easier to follow I think.


I was so tired when I saw the comments etc eek!!!!!!! I may close this thread and start to more the main thing is to keep the images small enough to not take up to much room here otherwise we should be deleting them after say a week tops. I just don't want a lot of large images and I don't believe e have been posting large ones the size most are using is fine, I just don't want to take up alot of space on the site. I'm sure Admin and the owner will appreciate that part. ok off to fine that thread.
