I've noticed that this site has been a lot slower to load than normal for a few days now too...
Have the owners done any board software updates? Or have the webhosts done something funky?

I just got in in 4 seconds :) Earlier it took me so long that I almost gave up. Mind you I have noticed the site has been slow for the last few days - and as far as I know the site owner has not done any upgrades. I have also noticed that other sites have also been quite slow especially today.

For me it was only IT that was slow! It seems to be running OK at the moment, but the time it went reallllllllly slow yesterday (nearly stopped altogether!!!) was when everyone in the US would have logged in, so I guess I get to have a little time on here with only a very few others for a few hours beforehand.
Methinks it's the servers struggling with the amount of simultaneous users, and maybe they need whatever the treatment is that clears this problem (can't think what it's called right now).. :raincloud

It could be nothing more then just the server being slow but I don't think it would be caused by how many members were on line at one time in the past few days. Angela is there a way to check that? It does show the most at one time in June being 232 members on line at the same time, unless there was a huge amount of people on line yesterday at the same time it wouldn't or shouldn't slow down the site to much for at least 2 days. No for that long there would be another explanation.

Being someone who has their own site hosted by a third party, I can attest to the fact that they often share their resources between a number of sites...
The problem could be that one of the other sites hosted by whomever hosts IT has a large number of resources being used, which leaves less for us... hence the slowdown at peak US usage times. Either that, or the hosting company is being really stingy and sharing way too few resources with way too many sites that they host...
It certainly isn't the number of users we have visiting here at any given time... trust me on that one... lol!
Maybe the hosting company needs to upgrade it's bandwidth pipeline, or buy a few more servers to cover the number of sites that it's hosting?
Whichever way you look at it - it comes down to hosting problems as far as I can see it...

I don't think number of members on line had anything to do with slow down - though I do think we are getting more members at any one time now than we used to.
I do agree on the rest of T's statement - it could have more to do with the host.

If everyone is slow its more than likely a server issue. The server is lagging. why? Don't know.. Could be because of the amount of graphics on the site.. Could be the server is having some line problems or any number of reasons.. Weather could be affecting it.. anything! Its not your computers its just the server is belching and no one really knows why. I guess.. Anyway thats what my son tells me. If you have no problems else where then its an issue in the server of the site.
