I've added 59 new images to my private gallery today...
http://www.woosie.net/gallery/index.php
You'll find the new stuff under category "Apophysis 5" in albums Apophysis 51, 52, and 53...
3 weeks since the last gallery update, and only 59 images... I'm getting slack aren't I? I hate it when other things, like "real" life, get in the way of creating pretty pictures... grrr!

Hehe, I've got some new ones rendering right now that I created with Apo 2.03a... and will be making some more tonight at work (hopefully)
Once this nightshift is over, I will have 4 days off work, which should allow me some time to play more with Apo...

Hehe - I've now got 80 images rendered that I have created in 2.03a... I'll get around to sorting which ones may be good enough for public viewing in good time... lol!
And, seeing as I have woken this morning to the news that there has been a release of 2.03b - I'll have to find some time to have a play with that also I think...

@T. Have you found that in the mutations box, sometimes you don't get the one come up that you click on? I've found this in both 2.03A and 03B, and it's darned annoying! Also 03B insists on using the render to disc and won't export flames correctly! (I went ahead and tried it and sure enough, it came out all the wrong colours!)
I was hoping the mutations box thing was one of the bugs they might have fixed - I don't belong to their whatever-it-is (haven't time) so wonder if it's something you can pass on to them to look at? Ta.

I do also but have been frustrated lately with apo so know telling what i am liable to post these days lol.....I try to take a day or so to work in Terragen and also Poser so I have enough to post during that week Love Poser can't help that one. Terragen is still iffy to me. Fractals well never know now what program I may use. shame too..
Anyway T I would hope when we leave a message here about problems with Apo that you maybe able to help get the word to the guys. yes I know Iam a member but I really don't know them all that well. Besides you know what we're talking about. so hopefully you'll be able to find out on the mutation window problem Anna is having.
Thanks tons

Anna I do know T will do what she can to find out for us. best thing is just to hang in there for now till she can find out more , I know it can be frustrating the only other option is to use 2.02 only..till she can find out something darn I didn't want to sign up with the mailing list again but may have too. :duel: :sprint:

Most problems people are having with the Mutation window are because they aren't allowing the previous image to fully appear in the Main window before clicking on the next mutation that they like...
However, I had a problem with the mutation window on my Athlon PC - when I installed Apo 2.03a (and 2.03b) on my Intel PC, I'm not having any mutation window problems at all... ??
Maybe if you redownload Apo 2.03 (a or b), delete the current one, and replace with the newly downloaded one, it might fix the glitch?
The mutation window problem appears to be intermittent, and may only affect people with certain conditions present on their PC? (like my differences in CPU processors and video cards)
AnnaKirsten - what type of CPU (AMD or Intel) and what video card (nVidia, Radeon, etc) are you using on your PC?
I am having no mutation window problems with Apo 2.03a (or b) on my Intel CPU/nVidia MX440 video card - but I did have some problems on my other machine that has an Athlon CPU and Geforce 3 Ti video card... then again, it could also have been because that machine REALLY needs a reformat... lol!
Apo 2.03a (and b) work perfectly fine on my work PC also (Intel CPU as well)

OMGosh! Um I'm really not sure WHAT I've got here! lol! what I can tell you is that the same things happened on my laptop. Where do I look to find out what kind of CPU I have? I'm pretty sure it is Intel, and Nvidia - yes definitely Nvidia. Running XP SP2... Completely looked over and defragged at the shop only last week because the harddrive died on me suddenly after using TG.
Ahh here we go, I've got the original build details (it's 10 months old btw). Intel P4 system, CPUp4 3.0ghz, memory 2x512MB DDR400, monitor 17" AOC LM727A (flat screen) and Graphics card is 256MB FX5700LE, which, because I have Nvidia settings in my taskbar, is presumably what it is.. What else would you need to know? I've got all sorts of info here! Is this enough? The indications are that it should work fine on here! Maybe you're right, I do tend to click on the next picture before the last one's fully loaded, and perhaps it just doesn't like that.. I was using 03A this afternoon and had no problems at all, but another time I would have. Odd. 03B was just horrendous for all sorts of reasons, so I'm not using that any more.
Anyway, thanks for help, and maybe what I've told you might indicate that there either is or isn,t a problem. If it continues, I'll do as you suggest and delete and re-download.

Well - based on what I've seen with my own machines - your setup should not be having problems with the mutation window...
My suggestion is to try letting the image finish loading in your main window before clicking on the next mutation, and see if that has any impact on the problem... like fixing it... lol!
I've added 2 bugs to the Sourceforge bugtracker for Apophysis 2.03 - the developers will have to look at them that way... nice and official... hehe!
One bug is the gradient thing when using batch scripts, and the other is the mutation window problem that you are having... hopefully I've given enough info so that the guys will be able to fix these problems for the next version release of Apo...
So now we just have to wait... lol!

Ask them also T about the locking up of Apo it does it mainly when using the slider in gradients window ya know it could be I just need to reformat, can't get Ron to take the time to do one for me and I don't dare not with this computer we never have done one with this one and its about a year and a half old already. drivers are all updated everything is all updated. however it was also doing the same thing on 2.03a however if does catch up with itself and unlocks possibility it is something i am doing incorrectly....
Thanks T :w00t:

Carolyn,
Ronald, Piotr, and Peter Z all visit the Fracfan forums pretty regularly, and they do take notice of what is reported there... and respond with answers if they have them, or that they will work on the problems for the next release...
Maybe if the Apo mailing list is giving you grief, you might want to ask your question at Fracfan?
Personally, I cannot reproduce the problem you are having, so it makes it a little difficult to explain it myself...
Also, at the Sourceforge page, there is a Bugtracker area that we can report our various problems to - for formal fixing purposes, if you will...

Sure T I can do that is there a specific forum at your site to actually leave a question at?
Source Forge is also a good idea. least that way they will see it for sure.
Thanks again.
Anna glad that fixed your problem I would however suggest as T did to either leave a message at her site or simple leave a bug track at Source Forge it is something they need to fix in the next release. :duel: I will also be checking out the slider problem in gradients..and advise accordingly.
Thanks again

The guys check out the Apophysis Help forum pretty regularly, and Piotr is very helpful in all of the Apophysis forums... so there would be a good place to ask a question... lol!

Hehe - I just spent the whole afternoon/evening actually building a new PC! Then I had to install everything onto it!
It's a really flash new box too, all silver... and I've whacked in an Intel 3.2gHz CPU, 1Gb RAM, 120Gb hdd, flashy Radeon video card, and a few other bells and whistles... working like a dream so far... lol!
Took about 1 hour to physically build it - and another 5 hours to install all of the darned software that I like!!!
It's 11:00 pm here now, and I have to be up at 5:00am to go off to a 12 hour shift at work... grrr! And I haven't even had a good play with Apo on this beastie yet!!! Maybe tomorrow after work... ??
