I clicked on the link from my own sampler of the waterpainting in virtual painter, and it took me to the Jasc (now Corel) site, but there's no apparent outlet for purchasing Virtual Painter there.

Does anyone else know where it can be got from?

Here ya go Anna :) found it and I have version four also. The first one I had came with my PSP 7 I believe. It was part of the 'bundle' then I upgraded to four....

I've used the demo and its great but if you do make sure you don't have anything down on the right 1/4th of the pic cause when you render you get a big demo sign there ! :)

Unfortunately I don't just get a demo sign just in the right corner, but right across the whole picture! Bummer!

Pat, I only just saw this when I had e-mail notification of it! Thanks so much, I've downloaded it as a plug-in and will let you know how it goes.

Well I've been playing with it, and for some things - and you have to pick them carefully, it's quite nice and effective, but for other things, it just doesn't give the right result at all! I particularly dislike one thing about it, and that is that (just as in the original demo I had), the colours are only "subtle, normal or intense" (I think), which means you can't change the bias until afterwards, and then with your colour changing facilities/contrast, etc. within PSP itself. I have to say that IMO, for its price I feel it is rather underdeveloped!

Anyway, I have done a rather nice "watercolour of a New Forest pony and foal" with it, and will upload that tomorrow (when I next have my daily allocation!). However, the original photo taken by hubby cannot truly be beaten!!!

Guess who didn't download the trial version first??? Haha!!! Too hasty as per usual! Ne-er mind, I will use it, but I wouldn't have bought it had I realised it still had so many limitations!

Awwwwwwwww There are some limitations but it sure beats the heck out of 'painting' by hand for me for some of my sketches. Some of the older images I did of horses were added to by using Vp... And if you used the advanced selections you can sometimes get wonderful gradual painted effects. But then nothing beats a wacom (still on my christmas list :)

Well I uploaded my pic today, having used the watercolour effect with the most subtle settings I could, then clarified it in PSP to gain back some of the depth of colour.. HERE (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=20081&cat=500&page=1)
