Hi,

I've ordered world machine because I've tested it and saw that it works very well with terragen. I don't like the restrictions terragen give to unregistered versions - (render terrains larger than 513x513 grid points for example), They say that registration is for commercial but I wanna render my stuff just for fun... :fork:

... now I was forced to register to make my artworks... :mwahaha: :mwahaha: :mwahaha:

what do you think about that?

ps: a quick work using world machine and terragen

I totally agree on worldmachine. I have used this program all of the time for my terrains. I often combine different features from different terrains through the terragen terrain modification window. At times I do design special features (buildings for example, like THIS (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=12682&cat=500&page=2) or THIS (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=12866&cat=500&page=2) one) through photoshop, then save the .bmp and import the terrain through FIRMAMENT plugin, and combine with another standard terrain suited to it.
When I want really funky terrains, I do import images (even pictures with a certain simmetry) as BMP with firmament, and obtain terrains through glaciating, canyonizing (normal terragen work), and the absolutely necessary SOpack statistical filter (or you will get too many peaks in the terrain to be useful). This is quite difficult to understand for those who don't use those plugins, but maybe I'll write a small tut when I can.
