For anyone interested in free art programs, here's one someone told be about. Don't know how good it is, but it could be worth checking it out.

Artweaver (http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?en_version)

Oh, this seams to be a very new german website - I surfed a little there and think that artweaver is like Painter (the icons, the colorwheel, the papers and so on - ) The autor works hard to develop his program - beside english and german he offers french and spanish interfaces, plugins and the SDK.

And this is freeware! Big thx for this link!! :bounce:

Thanks for that info and opinion BigH.

For people that can't afford to buy a paint program this might offer some solution, and may not crash so much on another computer. It's surprising how something that works well on one computer won't work properly on another. As you say BigH, it may be better now in any case.

Anna I just checked it out and I think for those that do not have a paint program this one would work,, example Chris I believe she mentioned she didn't have one.... this does remind me of psp only no tubes but does a lot of the same things. She may want to try it.

That's really good news! I know when I first downloaded TG on one of my computers, it just crashed all the time, but it was something that was wrong with the computer, not the program. I think these coincidences often happen, and a lot depends on how people have their computers set up, what their OS is, RAM, memory etc. Since my computer was repaired after it finally went caput, I've had no further problems with TG.

Anyway, it's always good to hear of new free art programs, so go ahead, anyone who wants to try it out - quite often these programs will do almost as much as the paid for ones, especially if plug-ins and filters are compatible with them!

Just for you ladies .
I did it again - it ran ok - it slow on my computer ( 2.8 g) . There nothing worst when you are drawing than to wait for the program to catch up with what you are trying to do . Number one killer for me when using a graphic program .
The feature are ok - nothing great .

There are about - now this is a guess - 300 free drawing program .

I still think Gimp or Dogwaffle are better .

Gimp -

Dogwaffle -

H - I tend to agree with you about GIMP! I didn't bother with Dogwaffle as I already have Jasc Paintshop Power Suite, CS and others, including Painter IX (the latter of which I still need to suss out but don't have the time at the moment!). The beauty about GIMP is that it is entirely compatible with Photoshop/CS too! Good program!

Having said that, different things will appeal to different users I guess, and what we have been used to using, and have constantly added to, tends to become our personal standard, even if not the Industry standard! lol! Esp. when you get to my age!!!! Trying to learn new programs???

That is very true Nicky this one is just like psp only no tubes and runs like a charm I was hoping Chris could give it a try since I believe it comes in her language also.

anyway like you to each there own. I personally do not care for gimp nor dogwaffle there much larger programs this one is only 3 max4 megs.

anyway thanks I still recomment it though
