What kind of modeling you like - maybe I can help with a bit step-by-step. We start here with simple forms but we'll grow! Please tell me your 'this-I-like' theme! :+devwatch

Ok! what about we make a scene, with a landscape and a model. like a robot or a monster, or a dinossaurio, something like that.
The people that have only bryce can do this, I think.
It's my idea.

Faces.
People.
Goats.
I need to study more up on my anatomy... I've started a model of a famous person based on thousands of pictures I've collected, I'm only going to do the head though - it's already taken me ages to get this far (not enough time to work on it), but I intend to make it photorealistic as a way of teaching myself how it's done.

Thats good - we'll start pretty soon the next theme.
@Rumour: the anatomy seems to be correct - can you post a wireframe? Which program?

I made the head using Lightwave - this wireframe is a few steps on from the one posted below (done a few months back now) so it has a few more tweaks and adjustments made to it. It's high polygon I know - I'm hoping to be able to animate it enough to talk at some point, which is another reason I need to study some anatomy and get a mirror that I can have in the room so I can see what muscles move when I talk!
Do you know how hard it is to get an accurate likeness of a person in 3D when you only have 3d images? Ok, I have a lot of them, but still... I've put off doing the next steps hair and texturing, because I know each in itself isn't an easy task and I'm in two minds as to how to approach hair, looked at some tutorials and have two ways I can do it, depending on the results I want. I could paint it, but that won't work for animating.
Any guesses on who it is? :lick: :nana: If you can guess, it means I've done enough work on the actual face for it to be recognisable. Someone's guessed, but then, they know me too well :D:mwahaha:

There a so many sotwares,I've bryce4 but I really don't know how to use it?The problem is that's not the latest version so it's not so easy to find tutorial for bryce4.
It's really difficult to choose with whitch 3Dsoftware I could begin.
Poser6 is a 3Dsotware but very expensive so I began with DazStudio but without buying stuff it's really difficult to realise an artwork.
I've found in the web many free stuff for DazStudio but I realise I can't express myself fully. The solution I found is to work simply with what I have that's to say : nearly nothing.
I 'd like to make 3D artworks for children but I know I haven't any stuff.I can't buy and buy stuff without end...and I can't ask any one to give me stuff he doesn't use....so ???????????It's 3h30 AM and I'm still wonder what ti do...may be another portrait...thats to say making the same kinds of pictures 'cause a lack of stuff :(
Ther is not justice in the 3D world: if you have money you can realise a 3D artwork...
I thought may be to try with Blender but it seems to be really difficult to know where I could begin from?
One of the reason I worked with Terragen is 'cause it's a free software=unregistred version...you are restricted...after nearly one year I decided to spend 100$ to have the registred TG version + WorldMachin but that's all.You don't have to buy any stuff...but only to work with your brain to create a niew(realistic or not realistic) landscape.
I'd like to enter in the 3D world but which sofware I could begin with.I really don't know if I could get any technical support?

Hi,
its a good idea to start with blender (newest version 2.41 I think) - I will post the link to the newest version soon - imo there are a few tutorials for beginners. I've started using Cinema 4D 8.1 in 2003 and this was the beginning of a friendship, the beginning of a passion for 3D. A few 3d packages have 'try-out'- versions (most of them are actual full versions without possibility to save the picture or a few other restrictions - for example the Maya LE with watermarks and a line pattern on the final render). Sometimes you can get older versions for a realy low price or for free on a magazin dvd.
Maybe on ebay you could search for older versions but you have to be careful not to buy a cracked version...:FIREdevil
here is the link to the actual version of blender: http://blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html
and here is another one: http://blender.org/cms/Blender.31.0.html

Hi my friend,
I'd like to make artwork for children for expressing their innocence,...
I really wonder if I could work with Blender and DS together that's to say to export to DazStudion or importing from DS to blender...I wish you understand what I mean.
What's the difference between those 2 versions of blender?
Thank you for your technical support :)
