Hi
I take the decision of trying the Terragen and download the free version.
In the web site of Terragen there are a page call Resources with a lot of plugins and others applications, that let me completly confuse. lol

So I ask some help or advice from you, because I don't know which one I must make download.

What are the plugins and or others application, that you consider that are a must have for a beginner?

Thank you in advance.

Download all the plug-ins that are not third party plug-ins. For example Sopack, For Export Only, Firmament, Sorta Surf, I haven not had a chance to check the site of late to see what's listed. Once downloaded just drag them to your main TG folder. (recommend that you down to a temp file) Once you have them in your TG folder open TG and that is it. Go to accessories and add ons when you are in the TG program and you will see them listed. What some of these plug-ins do is give you effects. Example..White caps on the water, surf. etc . Hope this helps !

The plugins that coolcatcom mentioned are exactly the ones you will want to use more in the future.
Also, you could get a better terrain generator than Terragen's own built in (which is really basic). Maybe WorldMachine. But wait until you really feel the need of doing great terrains.
I will give you my best advice, on first:
before messing with plugins one is required to have a strong basis of Terragen mechanics, because plugins are more than often advanced in use and require the understanding of TG basics.
So, more than the plugins try and get a few tutorial on TG basics, mostly on surfacing and atmos, which are probably the most important parameters of a good looking terragen render.
Look HERE (http://www.innertraveler.com/messagecenter/showthread.php?t=738) for a few good tutorials!
