How do ya scale 'em *LOL* - if you have a look at my 1st Bryce upload (shameless plug :aww: ) http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=23242&cat=500&ppuser=165 You will see the "riverbed" texture (or whatever it was called) that I applied to the ground plane looks distorted and far too large - I scaled the ground plane down as far as I could but still the texture looked too large - what could I have done, or should I have done, to make it look smaller? Help!!!

Ummmm, thanks Chris - I did check the link - and clicked the link for the tutorial but it wants me to download and install something - I am always a bit wary of anything that tries to insinuate itself onto my computer :)

I have a heck of a time scaling the textures in Bryce. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, they just don't look any different. I also can't seem to get them to rotate. I'll take a look at the links too. I must be missing something in what I'm doing.

What are you using them on ?

H, I'm using them on terrains....well, actually, I can't seem to get a texture to change on anything. I did a boat, and needed to get the texture to run lengthwise instead of up and down, but no matter how I changed the orientation in the texture editor, nothing changed. It happens with mountains too.Same problem with resizing textures in the editor. Nothing happens. Now I just duplicate terrains, use another texture and move the duplicate slightly to give a multi texture look. That seems to work well enough. When something really looks icky, I add plants and rocks, etc. to hide it. If it's not for a challenge, I also postwork the heck out of a pic in PSP. This is actually my favorite thing to do. I love postwork!
