You know, I really like this place!

I just wanted to say that. It's so rare to find an art community that is just the right size and comfort zone - where people still take time to welcome and encourage new members rather than just sticking with their friends.

to all of you who have been so generous with your comments on my images, who have taken the time to make me, a newbie in this forum (and a total newbie to fractals) feel welcome here!

It makes me happy to see other people pleased and happy too! These are all aspects that a lot of us like here - we're a bunch of friends as well as artists, and no cliques (I hope!) although obviously some people know one another better than others. I don't think it's generally so difficult to "break in" here as it is in some places - I've been to some awful sites before now, but I guess that's partly how we learn!! lol! ENJOY!!! :sing:

Judie I couldn't agree with you more!! I belong to a few other groups on the net and non of them even come close to this great forum. The art is amazing here and makes me want to explore other areas.

The people are very friendly and not scared and don't hold back on their comments. I have been too other groups where I post an image and get over 200 Views and 25 Direct links and get none or next to nothing for comments and the as for the linking I have no idea who or where my pictures are being linked too??

A friend of mine was talking to I beleave ClassyLady and she told her about this forum and my friend then told me. So now I guess I owe her a great big box of candy!! lol

Whoever is doing the direct linking - that is, if it's hotllinking to another site - is carrying out an ilegal act! They are pinching bandwidth space from the site you have posted on and it's internet theft that the site owner is paying for! That cannot happen here as there's coding programmed in to prevent it happening, since we discovered certain people doing it from here too! You might want to take a look around at who you know, and perhaps visit some sites of theirs to see if you find your pictures are on any of them - directly hotlinked from whatever site you were posting on!

We are, of course, allowed to save images into our favourite images folders with our personal galleries, but as yet it's not been possible to enable others to view each other's favourites. It's something that's being worked on!

I couldn't agree with you more judee I know myself I used to post at different places some are hard and cruel, some where mods just ignore you so when I personally found IT is was like a home coming so glad you are enjoying yourself and from what i see of your work it has already done one heck of a turn around, so keep up the fabulous work..

Judee, it's a pleasure having you here, and your work is really interesting :)

As you know I'm a new member myself, arrived just before you actually ;) but in the short time I've been here I've benefitted so much more than at any of the other sites I belong too (some of which I joined years ago!). The feedback I've had is tremendous, both in comments and PMs :)

At other sites, I've never been one of the "in crowd" - althougth I've made a small group of friends at each one, my work seems to mainly get ignored otherwise.

Here we're all part of the "in crowd", and I appreciate this community every bit as much as you do :)
