News about Tita from her husband
Dear fractal artists,
Titia asked me to send you some news about her condition, as she is staying at the hospital at the moment and is generally too sick to sit at the computer for longer than some minutes. I'm afraid I have to tell you things are looking quite glum momentarily, as she is often in a lot of pain even with lots of painkilling medication, including morphin. If you can't stomach the ugly details you should skip the rest of this paragraph but move on to the next one... The medical facts are she has metastases in het liver and bones which so far have caused her to grow beyond her spleen, have punctured her breast bone, have broken off a smaall part of the fifth vertebra in het neck and broken one of her lower ribs. There may be even more but she wouldn't notice because of the morphine. She has been undergoing chemotherapy for about five weeks now and even though it makes her very nauseous at times she is finding it less hard to bear than she originally expected. Yet we can't help but wonder if and when any positive result will occur.
Still we really do not despair, and we hope you won't either, although it is getting hard.
She misses you all very much and wants you to know that although she is not doing so great right now she really hopes to be in contact again real soon. She is very thankful for all your prayers, good wishes and other messages you posted as comments at her pictures at Renderosity, some of which by the way brought tears to my eyes and I haven't wept since I don't know how long.
So, on behalf of Titia and myself, thank you for your warm support, you really feel like family and friends. I do hope next time I will be able to bring better news or, even better, Titia herself will.
We have come to realise the end is and has always been near, but as well that this in fact goes for any and all of us. So we wish you all the very best and hope to communicate again in better standing.
