Did your printer come with any CD or installation set-up? And did you run the set-up? If I remember correctly, a new printer should come with instructions for callibrating the printing - it runs a special test page to make sure it's correctly alligned or something like that.
I assume the ink came with it and was installed properly? No chance it's the wrong ink?
That's all I know to check - if you've done all that, and it's printing wrong, you might try going to the Epson site and searching for the latest drivers or whatever they are called.
Frustrating, yes, but don't panic, I'm sure there is a solution.

Thanks Judee :-) Well, it was brand new, out of the box, right ink and all.. I did all the alignment tests... still kinda green.. could it be my graphics card perhaps? anyone know?

oh heck colors are still off, will have to research., i spoke too soon..
could be your screen color setting - have some one look at the pic to see what they see on theirs .
try a test pattern in your graphic program .
could be paper used .

BigH - screen color - as in, the original picture itself may not be showing on screen as it is, and the printout is the real image? Hmm.. that's a thought. I know there are color configuring tools for screens somewhere on the net, unfortunately I don't have an address. But it could probably be searched out.
Still, that sounds like a long shot. But one worth checking on, especially since nothing else seems to help.
Sass, even though the ink came with the printer, have you checked if the printer takes more than one kind of ink? I've seen Photo Printers where you can use regular color ink, and then there is the possibility of a more expensive "photo-ink". Maybe you got the cheap one?
I admit I'm just throwing out guesses at this point. It must be terribly frustrating when your printer doesn't print what you see on screen.
Do you do a "set-up" of your image before printing? For example, if I want to print something, I open it first in PSP and look at the print setup - you can configure the printer from there as to what kind of paper you are using, quality of image, etc. Have you tried that?
If all else fails, get a refund. I've had Epson before, never had a problem with it except with one that upon aging started going screwy and even new drivers didn'thelp - but it was like 3 or 4 years old, not new. If it's unworkable out of the box, and you can't find a solution after several days, I'd say that's good enough reason to ask for a refund.
So sorry you are goig through this, and I hope it gets sorted out.

Are you printing in RGB or CMYK?
Check the application that you are trying to print from...
You want to be printing in RGB for the best colour match to your screen settings...
