Step 1. Go to User CP. This stands for User Control Panel. It's where you set your avatars, check for PMs (Private Messages) and can display a custom signature under your posts.
Step 2. Click Edit Signature. At the top you will see what your current signature is, while underneath is the code you will put in to make it look how you want.
Step 3. To insert an image, click on the Square yellow icon that looks like it has mountains in it.
Step 4. To insert a link to another page, click on the blue 'world' icon that has a chainlink in front of it.

Step 5. A window will pop up asking you to insert the URL where the image or link is kept. The first part of the link: http:// is already highlighted. You can delete this if you plan to copy/paste a url, or keep it to type in the rest of the link as you see fit, it doesn't matter either way.
The best way to be sure there are no spelling errors in your link is to have a second browser window open at the page where the image or link is stored. If you copy and paste the link over, you'll be sure to get it right first time.

Step 6. Click OK, and your work is done. If you have inserted a link, a portion of the code will be highlighted, allowing you to customise the words that people will click on to go to the web page you've linked to. So for example, you can type: 'Go Here', or 'Free Stuff!' instead of having the URL of the web page being displayed. By default, the actual URL is placed in here, so you don't need to type in anything if you don't want to.
When you click, 'Preview Signature' you can see how your signature will appear to others. You can also add smilie faces to your signature if you know the code that you want to insert. eg: : hug:
TIP: If you are inserting buttons into your signature, put all the image links on the SAME line rather than on a new line for each. That way your signature only takes up a few lines instead of a whole lot more than your post or comment!! For example:
