Hi, i decided to have a go at animation my still digital artwork. I wanted to create something different, a painting that slowly morphs in front of you eyes. My partner created the special music for them. We created them to be a meditative and relaxing experience. We would really appreciate your feedback on what you see.
I invite you to see some here, made with picture it publishing, adobe photoshop and Imovie.

All I get is a message saying "Quicktime is missing software that unfortunately is not available from this site" and so I see nothing.
I know it's free to join that site, but I also feel that as members of IT, we should attempt to try and upload our work here, so that we can enjoy the experience here, and leave our comments, questios, discsussion, here too. A subscription for three uploads in 24 hours is really very cheap, and many people don't want to belong to loads of different sites, most already belonging to a couple of others already in any case, and we just don't want to go into "site-hopping overload" if you know what I mean.
I do hope you don't mind me mentioning this (and it's meant in the friendliest of ways)?
I have been very impressed with the "stills" you've been producing, and I think it would be great to have some of your work over here at IT. You're obviously extremely good at what you do!

Hi Anna,
I understand and totally agree with all you say, but I cannot find any way to upload videos to IT, can you direct me to the relevent information for uploading them, thanks.

Hi EM, now you're asking! lol!
This is something that needs clarifying with Rumour who is both moderator of this forum and also one of our Admins, so I'll give her a pm-buzz and see if she can answer your question for you.
Just for clarity, what format are you using? (This might make the difference for upload purposes - or it might be file-size, not sure, I'm out of my depth completely on this I'm afraid.)

You upload them just as you would an image. You will need to have a separate thumbnail available as well unless you want your work to be displayed as 'Multimedia' in the gallery. You shouldn't have any other problems, but if you do, just let me know. Depending on the file size, it could also take a while to upload, so be aware of that, and don't cancel out, or the upload will be 'stuck' in the queue and could take a few days to get it sorted out.
Ideally it helps to have your animations in a format lots of people can see, the better for other people to view it because you want as many people to be able to see your work with as little hassle as possible. It also helps to keep the animations as small as you can, because not everyone has fast internet access or the patience to download big files. A general rule I use is 1M/minute as far as file size goes (yes with some formats this does tend to ruin the quality, but it IS possible to get it looking very reasonable.)
I can send you a list of what codecs are good to use too, though it has been some time since I did much animation (a couple of years) so there may be some new codecs out there that I don't know about. It will have to wait until tomorrow however if you want them, very tired right now and about to face plant, so I don't think I can think coherently to give you a decent list right now.
