Thought I'd post up a WIP of a model I've been doing, as well as one that I've finished recently, for interest's sake.
First, a couple of WIP pics of a bucket:

And a model I've finished in the last month or so of a bow, based on a rather infamous one used in a very popular movie:

I was thinking of making a quiver to go with it, but haven't yet gotten around to doing it.

Really nice - I like that - well done - it is interesting to see these WIP's and to see how individuals are progressing. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking recently of how realistic you can make models of people, real enough to animate them convincingly to an audience on screen, real enough that they had to dumb down the characters in Shrek so they were less life like. So I was wondering, how easy is it to do that? I don't have an image scanner capable of scanning the contours of a human face and replicating it in the 3D program of my choice, so I have to go about it the long way. Even if I did have such a scanner, I don't have the model of my choice to scan from, more's the pity.
So, here's what I have done so far over the past two weekends. Still working on it (obviously- haven't wanted to think about tackling the ear, the rest has been a bit of a mission in itself!) so you can tell me by your guesses on who it is how well I have done, and how realistic my likeness is. Wrong guesses means I still need to work on it, but even a right guess may need some improvement, so help me out, ok? I want people to be able to look at this and say 'hey, that's so and so! Where did you get a photo of them from?'
There are no textures yet (that's an exercise and a half in itself!) so it's just a grey scale model. Yup, boring old grey, not even a plastic looking flesh tone - the better to just how well the model looks, my dear. And not even all of the face either, just half of it at this stage. I'll post some more pics of the rest of it as I progress.

I haven't got the foggiest idea who it is supposed to be!! But it's a cool looking model all the same :headbang: Well done you!!

... my WIP has managed to progress a LITTLE further than before, although not as far as I'd have liked to progress. But anyway, they have an ear of sorts right now... still working on that one to get the details right, but the contours of the face look a little better than before - having an eyeball helps too I'd imagine! All still needs tweeking, and I don't know HOW I am going to do the hair, but I have been practicing and experimenting with ways to do it.
Still keen to hear people's ideas, I'll let you know if you're getting close. ;)

I'll make a guess, but on the off chance I'm right and others want to keep guessing themselves, I'll colour it white. Highlight to read: Orlando Bloom?

Don't know how many people are interested, but here's the latest WIP update. I've coloured in the skin and added eyebrows to help. ;) Not tackled the hair yet... that'd just be a bit of a give away. :P
