Hello all;
I was wondering if some of you would take a look at the following link and after reading and viewing what I have there get back to me with any suggestions you may have to help me out with my creating shadows problem?

I like your WIP's and yes I can see what you are trying to do - I am afraid however I can't be a lot of help - is there a way of making the tree invisible but still cast shadows?

just more the tree off the screen right left up down - it will still cast a shadow
play with the lighting

I do not know it will help you.
for the shadows from the tree I would do the same as bigH.
But I know not much about this.

1. Either move the tree far enough out of the scene and place a Spotlight behind it in the direction that you want the shadow to be cast. The distance between the tree and the spotlight and the house will determine the size of the shadow, also the size of the tree. If the spotlightlight is closer to the tree the shadow will be larger, but very dense. If the spotlight is farther away from the tree the shadow will be smaller, but not as sharp or dense, just a little bit lighter in color.
2. Same as above, but make an Alpha render of the tree and use it instead of the tree, if you want to save polygons on the scene!!!

The light lab can do a great job on this, here's a tut on negative light and casting shadows
