Hi, just wanted to ask what formats we are allowed to use here for animations....I wanted to try a VR or animation of one of the Voyager worlds for a study and tutorial and wanted to use the gallery to bounce this type of work off of an audience (Guess Who??) and find out what works as far as some of the other artists here...

Next step is to put the good ones in tutorials to be shared not only with Artmatic folks but the Animation folks here to help illustrate that these programs are capable of some pretty fair effects...maybe pass the good ones one in relay to see what anyone can add...share the credit totally and see what can be made..

I think I'm ready to expand on what I have been doing and the next stage for me is to either diversify and go up a level on Voyager or to work with those that can take it up more...for me the program is what is important..and I might just learn something along the way MYSELF...lol

So one of you excellent people that can answer this, a little help with my question and I can work it out from there...see ya in the funny papers...DW

I've been successfully able to upload .mov, .avi and .wmv files here, so any of those formats should work, and more importantly the majority of users should be able to view them.

However, if you're asking about codecs, that's another pickle altogether. I've read various discussion on the merits of one codec over another and have yet to personally form a decent opinion one way or the other. Some praise DivX, others have problems with it... the only thing I will say is that it's always a good idea to state what codec you're using, and if it's a strange one, provide a link where a person can get it. In fact that's a good idea regardless.

Hope that answers things, and looking forward to what you've come up with. I'd put my latest project up, if it wasn't 55 minutes long and ccurrently sitting at around 12G. Might put the credits up though.
