gallery images missing

hello all,

a couple of my gallery images are missing, i tried to edit and upload them again but now all i get is a question mark where the thumb should be and an x on the main image. i noticed last night when i uploaded a new image that it showed up in two spots in my gallery, replacing a previous post. what's going on and how can i fix the problem without wasting the days post? thank you in advance for any assistanc!!!

ps. the two pictures i'm having a problem with are, "half and half" and "the green tower".

can someone please tell me what's going on with my gallery, images keep getting switched or duplicated or just don't show up at all. i've already had to delete two of them and now looks like a third is on the way. is this someones idea of telling me not to post here or what!!!

There is nothing wrong with the gallery settings - and you appear to be the only person that is experiencing these problems - I have no idea what is happening - did this start recently - did the problem only start after you tried to edit an image? Can you be more specific about what is actually happening please?

Is it possible for you to post up a screen shot in this thread of what exactly it is you are seeing so we can get a better idea of what you're meaning? I went to your gallery... Did you delete the two pictures you are referring to that had the problem? Is the third image you are talking about - "Pouring Over" the same as "Couldn't Resist?" Because the images look exactly the same, but the text and titles with them are different, which implies to me that you uploaded the same image twice but gave them different descriptions.

ok, it's happening again! "pouring over" and "couldn't resist" are the ones i'm having problems with now. i've already deleted two images and just deleted a third, "pouring over" and by deleting that one has caused "couldn't resist" not to work now. all you see when looking at my gallery is a message saying no thumb, then when you click on the image all you see is a tiny "x" in the top corner. so now i have to delete another image, more then likely i'll delete them all and not be posting here anymore. this will be 4 images i've deleted, 4 days post!!! it started just the other night, i suspect there were some upgrades done to the site as another site did the same thing to me but there it only happened with my most recent upload and all others work fine. i didn't do any image editing till after the problems started, thought maybe i could fix the messed up images but as i fixed one another wouldn't work by either showing the same images or by not working at all. attached are two screen shots of what i'm talking about, before i deleted the one picture it was working fine, i only deleted it because the same image was showing up twice replacing a previous post that was entirely different. i'll wait on deleting this last image and see if anyone knows what's going on. i'll not make anymore post until this gets resloved, if at all.

Well I just tried it - I uploaded a photo to the photo gallery - then clicked on edit photo and uploaded a different photo - it was fine - the thumbnail showed, the picture itself showed, so I tried it again and uploaded a 3rd different photo and again nothing wrong - I really cannot understand what is happening for you with your edits and cannot recreate what is happening for you either. I suspect something is going wrong when you edit them (or try to)but I am afraid I have no idea what it may be. Can you run us thorugh the steps that you actually take when trying to edit a picture.

this didn't happen because i tried to edit a picture, in fact it's the oppisite, i only edited because this was happening and i thought re-uploading the image would fix the problem. i'll delete the bad image and try it again tonight with a different post and see what happens! thanks for your time in trying to figure out the problem, i appreciate the effort!!!

opps, missed that last part. all i did to edit was, click on the edit link under the gallery image, browsed for the image i wanted, then uploaded. it's pretty straight forward so i don't think i messed up on it.

In the uploading Freebies thread in this forum I have just come across an instance of a product being uploaded twice. I deleted one of the products which has resulted in the remaining product having no thumbnail - exactly like the problem you are having - is it possible you uploaded the same image twice and then tried to delete one of them? Just clutching at straws here trying to figure what is happening with your images but this sounds like the exact problem you were having.
