Now this is more like it... the UI is fixed for the Mac now and it renders twice as fast it seems... lots of new stuff to check out.. Extra content was not that much but the New UI is something to explore...Excellent Upgrade in my opinion...Well worth the money......

I will have to stick with P5 for a while longer I think - Mind you I am used to it now, so I do I really need, or want, to change? I have been following the P6 release closely and like the look of the new lighting techiques, but apart from that don't see any real difference between the two. I still have so much to learn about the P5 hair room and cloth room, I do have a go (now and then) but soon leave screaming with frustration. I will hang fire and keep an eye open on how it goes before finally deciding whether to just dip a toe in the water or to take the plunge :D Let us know how you get on with it, and what the real differences are, it will be interesting to get feedback from a real, live, P6 user :jawdrop:

I feel the same way you do Angela - there's so much still to master in Poser5 that I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade just yet.
From what I've seen though the interface is basically the same as P5 so it wouldn't be too much of a shock to the system - it looks like an upgrade rather than a whole new programme.
I'm pretty sure I'll pay the extra before long just so that I have the same tools everyone else has :boogie:

I've tried it on another system of a friend Im just not sure I like it at all!! Its so complicated. Wish they had kept the best features of 4. Specially the rendering just made it better.

I got my notice this morning that it had been shipped. I've been learning with Poser Artist (which I don't think is a full version of P4) and I can't wait until it gets here!

Still VERY pleased with this version after a week.. there is NO comparison in the smoothness of this version and that of 5 on a Mac... No lag time between the dial and the movement...sm-o-o-o-o-th....it just looks more complicated than it is.... NO MORE FRUSTRATION for the old DW when he uses Poser... I used to Cuss this program out everytime i used it...now i LOVE it...as far as i am concerned it's a big thumbs up to Curious Labs for this one...30 points for the effort...

For me, 6 is a totally different universe! I find it user friendly, (except when my curser simply disappears) Having trouble tearing myself away from this program, and I haven't even looked at all of the P6 figures yet!

Hmmmmm, mysterious crash... I have ben reading the P6 forum at RDNA and the poser main forum at RO and it appears that there are one or two issues of which CL is aware and SR1 is due to be released shortly :disbelief Poser 5 ended up with 4 service releases before the bugs were cured. I have however caved in and ordered.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5elf/dollars.gifhttp://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5elf/coin1.gif I simply could not deny myself any longer :mwahaha:

Last night I worked on a scene and when I got ready to save it I ran out of Memory for no good reason and it Crashed Poser and then when I restarted Poser, the PZ3 went blank and nothing came up on the screen but the window and ground Plane .....no Objects, Props, textures, or anything and it wouldn't come back... Wasted 2 days of work, if not for the Poses and Morphs I made of My Dragon and Hero and saved separately......I figured out that It will go crazy sometimes and it happened after I added the rest of My "Collection" to the Runtime folder....as soon as I took most of it and put it into a second Runtime Folder that it stopped using so much Memory...( "Sorry, You are almost out of Memory and should...Blah Blah Blah>>)... but it didn't say it would corrupt the PZ3 file when it Crashed...so this is important it seems...seems to be working very well now, once again...this after I put a bunch of stuff into Runtime2 and Runtime3 folders....seems it goes to the first folder of that name or the "original" Runtime...can you say" 51,000 items ", lol.....

All in all I still say it is the best version yet once all the bugs are out....

I had this very same problem DW :disbelief
I'm on the third attempt at rebuilding a scene after the memory warning came up while I was just working in the Pose Room.
I posted a thread at Renderosity and had no solutions so I went to Curious Labs!
There's a thread there (it's about the only one there is) on crashes at startup and whilst doing nothing particularly onerous :thinkey:
The problem seems to be in the hardware acceleration settings on my PC which is demanding too many resources to display the new preview window and particularly (would you believe it?) the cursor!!!!!
I've reduced hardware acceleration as recommended by Curious Labs and it hasn't happened again (but I have to admit - I've not had much Poser time since I reset the thing)
It's a simple fix if it works! :ambulance Give it a try - I'll be interested to hear how it goes!!!

Last night I set up a scene, nothing heavy, just James Hires and 2 lights. I set one light behind and to the left as a spot and the other as an infinite light and I was playing with the light settings to see how it changed things. I changed the spot light to a point light and set AO at 0.56 then tried an area render to see if it had changed anything, I drew the area I wanted to render and poser went bye bye. No warning at all it just suddenly closed itself. Anyone else had anything like that?
