Fractal Explorer is a freeware fractal generator that can produce mysterious
and beautiful mathematically-based images. Not just a tool for professionals,
FE can provide hours of entertainment for beginners and experts alike !
Fractal Explorer can render the classical polinomial fractal sets (like the
Mandelbrot-set, the Julia-set, the Newton-set and theirs variations),
4D-complex fractals (called «quaternions»), 3D «strange» attractors,
and IFS. Also, FE has many features for creation of special effects and
improvement of the pictures.
What's new in Fractal Explorer 2.01:
- quaternions: added Formula Compiler to build new fractals;
- quaternions: added two light sources (?? 3, 4);
- quaternions: added two selector of the function and two parameters (P1, P2);
- «signature» properties for each spot individually;
- mouse wheel support for image zoom (in/out) and numbers editing;
- added some new formulas;
- the recovery spots now will be saved into user-selected folder: [Preferences] -> [System] -> [Folder for temporary files];
- quaternions: added button to load settings of the light sources from another spot;
- was added base support for Windows XP Visual Styles;
- minor changes in the attractor searching algorithm;
- quaternions & attractors: rotation controls moved to the Tools window;
- increased «Contrast» and «Saturation» high range;
- fixed: bug with saving the quaternion rotation angle over Z-axes;
- fixed: bug with saving spot comments;
- fixed: bug in saving large images to bitmaps;
- fixed: bug (divizion by zero) in automatic colors balance;
- fixed: attractors, IFS and quaternions: texture was applied with vertical reflection;
