Revenant

As I promised, to encourage all of the members to drop by and have a look at new works, I'd like to invite all of the newcomers to drop a line under this post and bookmark their first efforts, if they want to get some feedback, some advice (if welcome), and praise for their works.
All of the old TG dogs could also use this thread to show us their first efforts, back in time, to put the newcomers at their ease. :beerchug:

Two more awesome works! You guys/gals are truly talented!
I must get another of mine up I suppose... lol! I'm still confused though...
... maybe I should actually read the manual huh?
To be honest, I'm trying to work out a whole slew of graphics programs right now... XenoDream, Chaoscope, ChaosPro, Fractal Explorer, Ultra Fractal, Tierazon, Biowin/Bioform, and Terragen... I think that my brain is slowly turning to mush!

T from what i see the basics is there , you may want to try and make your atmosphere darker, you have plenty of mist its the one that should be right above your sun settings on the left panel, don't be affraid to try different colors and or settings for the atmo, clouds any part you want just play with them, you can do all this in different places you may also want to just try turning your glow and power down on the last tab in your atmosphere settings. Believe me I am no expert so I am also going to rely on what Revenant and others say, Like I said IMHO the basics are there now give them some fertilizer and let them grow:) lol beside I have no idea how your trying to learn all these other programs and Terragen too. Terragen you really have to stay with so much to learn and believe me I still have tons to learn yet.. Mine are not what a true Terragen artist would call even good.

Hahahah! You should have seen it before I started fiddling with settings...
As for learning a whole pile of apps at the same time... I'm female - I can multitask... lol! Besides, it's good to have something else to swap over to when one really gets the pip with the current app...
I've actually thrown a few of my fiddlings with all of those other apps on my private gallery - check out my "Other Projects" section...

I just went by your site to take a peak sorry didn't have time for comments tonight wow girl nothing like trying them all oh well I have to admit I've done the same thing and like you said when you get a bit tired of one there is so many others out there to take your mind and really toss it into all the others.. It is fun is use them heck I still do but its always back to Apo asap...
tdierikx
22nd April 2005, 03:26
Yep! I agree... Apo is definitely the fave in my collection so far.
I think it's because I'm much more into the wierd and abstract than anything else - and Apo gives me that every time... lol!
Mind you - I reckon that I could do some wierd and abstract stuff with Terragen if I just stick with it long enough...
I don't know how the majority of mainstream Terragen artists would take me doing wierd and abstract though...

Growls at the message board ... I'd show you my latest but I can't for the life of me get a link to work in here to it in here ... grrr!!

23rd April 2005, 05:28
Try putting your link between img tags...
Example: <url> - where <url> is the location of your image...
...or you could just post the link to the image, and we can click on it to go to your image...
If you are trying to link to an image from this website - try going into your gallery and viewing that image yourself - then copy the whole url from your browser address bar and come back here and paste it into your message... same method can apply to other gallery spaces or websites...

Im just an html failure! :sadangel:
You dont have to be - the site does it for you - when you are typing your reply if you look above the box you are tping in you will see various things you can use like B I U Size and color for example - then just after them if you click on the the hyperlink symbol (planet with a chain link in front) a new box opens - "enter the text to be displayed" so here you type the word that is to be hyperlinked such as "Here" then when you click OK you are asked to enter the URL of your link - past the url in that box - click OK and it's done. :D

Whoo!! :w00t: I managed to upload something. Do you know it's been, umm... a long time since I uploaded any art? Well, this is old so I guess it doesn't count as something new, but as I saw this thread about and also remembered an old pic I'd done, so I thought I'd upload it again. It was here before the great crash last year and I hadn't gotten around to uploading it again, since well... it's my first ever try at something in Terragen. Come on over and have a laugh... :aww: :D
This is my cute attempt at a sunset in Terragen (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=13409&cat=500&page=1)

I am sooo glad I trashed my first efforts long ago. You guys do beautiful work for Terragen newbies! I am impressed. BRAVO! (oh, and I'm still a terragen newbie. I had forgotten I still had it, lol)

Okay you've been asking for it. I finally found it well at least one of my first efforts in terragen. Now remember this was about 2 years ago and I knew nothing about pixels or anything. Not even how to work the thing or change the maps nothing. But here goes!! LOL And I know its horrible!!...

9th June 2005, 18:02
I'm not lying... I really do like it! The surreal atmosphere is totally cool!
There are no rules to say that a Terragen image should look like something that we can find here on Earth... and your image shows a really great alternative to that sort of thing.
Keep up the good work!

Oh I totally agree. I love to change terragen colors around make them look unreal. I did one back when I first started where the mountains were lavender colored. The ground had a lot of colors on it. I drew some little faes on it and called it something like fantasy land. One I did similar I called Rainbow valley cause I put a rainbow tube on it between two hills. So it can be used for more than just landscapes of the normal kind. I may have to try another terragen one similar to this and see if I can make another surrealistic one look better than when I started out! :D Thanks for comments! :)

Coolies - I can't wait to see what you come up with wile1!!
I'm really good at knowing what I like - just not really good at realizing it via the tools I have available... lol!

This is my first render in Terragen but I did some postwork in PSP :)
http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=14460&cat=500&page=1
That was smudged a whole lot but I did keep the original image pretty much intact. The rest is all hand work, the lady/cougar were drawn then ghosted into the atmosphere via PSP and Super blade pro.

Naah, it isn't half as terrible as my first efforts, really! The terrain is quite interesting, with those high rock towers, and the surfacing has an original "flowery" look! You should see my "grey-on-grey" first tries, if I only found them...THAT is terrible! :)
