For this Fractal Challenge these here rules are used

1. Max 2 images/user
2. And you can't use the same fractal program for your 2 images (1 program per image).
(So if your first image is made in Apophysis then your second image must be made in another fractal program)
3. The only post processing with a image editor that is allowed are color/brightness/contrast adjustments
(You are of cause allowed to add a frame and signature with your image editor)
4. An image that has been entered for the challenge has to:
A) Be a new/unpublished image - designed especially for the challenge
B) The image cannot be posted to any other site (that is, where it can be viewed by the public) until the voting at InnerTraveler is over.
And if any image is then PROVED beyond doubt to be breaking these simple rules, it is removed from the challenge.
5. Post your Fractal Challenge image/s in the Fractal Challenge Gallery
6. You have 21 days to post your entries after the challenge starts
7. 22 days after the challenge start the voting begins
8. You have 5 days on you to vote,
Name, Image Title and Points (5 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd).
9. The winner of the challenge choose the topic of the next challenge
and are also allowed to change rule 1., rule 2. and rule 3.

Can we use these rules ?

I'm sure that I could cope with those rules... lol!

The only query is where is the preferred place to upload the images? Do we use the gallery here? and if so, should we note in the description field that the image is for the contest?

Posting the link in this forum may be a problem for those people more challenged in forum posting technique... maybe instructions on how that is done would be a good idea...

Can we use these rules ?

why can't a forum be made up just like poser? that way others would see it when they post and possibly post to it, and why 2 different programs like how many know more then 1 maybe 2 or so. Guess I get to drag out some of the bunch I have lol not going to guarantee anything on the other programs though lol.........

then 1 maybe 2 or so.

I suspect that the images should look to much the
same if you only use 1 program for you 2 images.

Can you explain it to me

I think what classylady is saying is that she'd like to see a specific gallery set up just for Fractal challenges/contests...

It would make tracking the entries easier if they were all posted to one specific gallery, rather than mixed in with the "everyday" artworks.

Personally, I like the bit where we have to use two different programs if we wish to submit 2 entries - a stroke of genius that - it will pull some people out of their "comfort zones" and maybe inspire us to try new things every now and then, if only just for a learning process...

classylady insists on using an older version of Apo Q.R... and is obviously extremely comfortable doing so, if her divine works are anything to go by... lol!

Most people are using v2.02 or one of the beta 2.02 versions... I'm using beta version 2.02g myself...

Apo version 2.02 can be had from http://www.apophysis.org

Beta 2.02 versions can be had from http://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis

Enjoy!

Im using Apo 2.02, but i don't like it as well as some of the old beta versions. I think I'll stay with it and say hard drive space. LOL

classylady
5th May 2005, 19:59
I don't blame you from what I am getting from the list most everyone is having some kind of problems so I'll just stay as is with mine too.

tdierikx

I have version 2.02, 2.02f, and 2.02g all running quite happily together on 3 different computers - never had any problems at all...

I think that most people end up with problems when they start messing with the paths in the options, or they start moving stuff around on their hard drives to try and reduce the inevitable clutter any graphics app causes...

Some people don't understand that to uninstall an installed application under Windows, they really should be using the Add/Remove function - not just deleting the directory that the application resides in. Any reinstall of that application will just take up the settings still left in the windows registry, and whatever problem they originally had will still be there after the reinstall.
