Boolean operations can be a nightmare...but with a little thought and patience they don't have to be...
http://www.sitesled.com/members/sanityimpaired1/IMG/BooleanTut-01.jpg
...the key is to remember that "each time" you hit that "G" (group) button that group now becomes "Neutral" and can now be treated as a single object which can be changed to "positive","negative" or "intersect" and react with the next object as if it were a basic primitive object.
...the trick is to keep close track of your groupings...if you ungroup the wrong thing...well let's just say it could get messy.
Hope this helps...now let's see what you can do.

The absolutely simplest really really easy tutorials that I know and which I thoroughly recommend were written by a friend of mine for a group of us who decided we would like to learn Bryce.
There are still three of us totally enthusiastic about it and we all agree that for complete beginners there are none better.
These are really simple but gave us all the confidence to move onto bigger and better things. They were written for Bryce 4 because at that time you could get the free demo version but they are still good to learn the basics of Bryce 5.
You can find them here

Thanks for that, they are very short and simple but very easy to grasp. Peter is a great guy - he has produced two computer games and is halfway through his third and if you are into jigsaws he does some fantastic ones to do on the computer :) :) very multi-talented.
