OKey Dokey folks!! The 1st Innertraveler Daz3D sponsored contest will begin on 1st june. It will run until the 20th June and that will allow 10 days for voting.
The theme will be "Summer".
What exactly is the essence of summer for you? Days playing on the beach? Picnics at the lake? Kids playing out in the streets? Days (and nights) spent at the fun fair? Whatever it is, render it in Poser and post it in the Poser Prize Challenge (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showgallery.php?cat=615) gallery.
Rules are as follows:

A maximum of 2 images per registered member.
Minimum postwork (meaning as little as possible!!).
Only images that comply with the theme will be considered for the final voting.
You need to have an account with Daz3D (free to set up) in order to claim your prize.

Any member found flouting the rules will have their image removed from the contest gallery.
The Prizes:

Good on ya!!! Looking forward to seeing it posted
If i could use jessi (no one heard me say that, lol) there would be no problem. Unfortunatly the Daz figures seem to freeze up on me in Poser6. I can work for hours on something, save it, and when I go back to it, I can't make any more changes. The parameter dials will move, but nothing happens. :( It's very frustrating.) If I put more than one figure in a scene,(including a background) then the whole works goes. The only way I use the Daz figures is in PSP as add-ins. I do believe that counts as major postwork. ROFL!!!! I don't mind though. I learn from looking at what the rest of you accomplish! Sooooooo, here's hoping a lot of people enter and show what can be done!

did you set SR1?? if you did, has it not made any difference to how P6 works on your system?
Yes.....everything works really well on my system except V3. I even have trouble with her in Daz Studio. if I use an injection (someone else's work) I don't have much of a problem except when I start adding clothes, etc. I just don't like using other's stuff when it comes to morphs. I like to do my own faces and bodies. V3 just will not cooperate when it comes to saved changes. I've read where others have this porblem with her in P6 (and DS) but no one seems to have an answer for it. I honestly don't consifder it that great a loss. I am still really new to Poser, and I love the face room in P6. (still haven't tried the hair room, lol) One of these days i may take the time to figure out what's up, but for now I'll stick with Jessi, James, and little Aiko (who gives me no trouble)

Miriah... V3 seems to be a little problematic everywhere. Friend of mine is having same problems with her not wanting to do face morphs. She does fine with me.. I don't use the face room don't know anything about it, maybe if you do you could do some sort of info here about it. Hair room same thing, I just use premade or use brushes. I do like the material room though. Thats really a great feature and works so much better than the one on P4.
Anyway with V3 I put V2 in also and the upgrade version to V3 seems to help me be able to morph her face. But M3 I can't get to do anything. But I haven't put M2 in either. Hugs .. Lou Ann

I have no problem with V3 in P6 - but that said I still prefer to use P5. Not quite got the hang of all the ins and outs of P6 yet :D Never used the hair room that much and in P5 never used the face room as it only worked on the native P5 figures, as does P6. You cannot, as far as I know, use the face room for Daz figures. But for me V3 is very well behaved and does anything I ask of her (within reason) as do the rest of the Daz family.
Miriah what are your computer specifications?
Minimum System Requirements:
Windows
Windows 2000 or XP
500 MHz Pentium class or compatible (700 MHz or faster recommended)
256 MB system RAM (512 MB or more recommended)
OpenGL enabled graphics card or chipset recommended (recent NVIDIA
GeForce and ATI Radeon preferred)
24-bit colour display, 1024 x 768 resolution
500 MB free hard disk space
Internet connection required for Content Paradise
I assume you have equal to this, or better, on your system?
My system requirements are better than required, and this is the only figure I have problems with. Even the hi-res Jessi is no problem. It's true, you can't use the face room for Daz figures. Too bad too. I'm just beginning to touch the surface of Poser 6...heck I'm just a beginner in Poser regardless of the version! LOL Maybe if I actually broke down and read a tutorial???????ROFL!!! It'll probably never happen. I don't have the personality type to learn that way. If I ever do figure out how to make V3 behave, I'll pass along the info in case it helps someone else.

that would be useful I am sure, if you are having problems then others must be too! I guessed your system may be equal to or better than the minimum requirements but it had to be asked, just in case. I actually found that reading tutorials helped me loads, though I have to do whatever it is several times to see how it works, and to set it in my brain - if you see what I mean :reading:. I don't think I would have ever dared open the hair room without reading loads of turorials first, and making loads of notes, and then comparing them and combining them all together, using the best bits from each to achieve what I wanted. Some tutorial writers are better than others at describing things in simple terms :imslow: :disbelief

Well, I can make a wicked fly away mess for hair....LMAO!!!!!
O.k., I think I figured out something that will help with V3. You have to save the file under a new name each time. it seems that saving changes over the original file corrupts something. I just posted my first V3 "multi session" work. I had the morning off, so I used it to experiment. Every time I saved the file, I gave it a different name (like woman 1, woman2, etc.) I have about a dozen of them for her, lol but they all work. I had just been saving my changes in the original file (overwriting?) Anyway, maybe this will help someone else.
Now I have to earn my keep and get back to work! *grins*

Join the club!! I followed a tutorial once for using the hair room to make a waterfall - it looked so easy, but my god! Waterfall? Mine looked like an explosion in a matress factory :D I have actually managed to get a decent looking hairstyle - exactly once, don't know how I did and I have never been able to replicate it  !

*giggles* You sound like me. That's one reason I tend to stay away from tutorials. I either think differently than other people, or I process what they say differently. (there is a long story behind that statement, lol) Anyway, I honestly find that experimenting (endlessly) not only nets better results, but it forces you to use parts of your brain that apparently have gone dormant due to the "ease of use" thinking we all tend to slip into. I also find that it helps to obsess (compulsively) about one thing until you find that it becomes second nature. My current "learning experience" is in sub surface scattering and getting that kind of real look to skin. LMAO!!!! I have no idea why this seems important because I don't see the need for photo realism in my Poser work. If you want that kind of thing, go look at a photo. *winks* hair may be next...then again, I really do love the Koz hair and may just stick with it. (as in...gee, it's free) Since Poser is, at this point in time, a sometime hobby, I can't justify purchasing loads of characters, clothes, etc. it forces me to be creative with what I do have. If I ever figure out the hair room, I'll yell loud and clear, and see if I can't write something that makes it easier!
