Lets see how many of you have taken the plunge and gotten Poser 6.
Simple poll but you can feel free to post a reply here as well with your findings. Are you happy with it? Is it all you expected? would you have expected more? What exactly?

Yes I got it. I kept P4 in computer for a couple weeks til I got used to P6. I think it does some things a lot better, but other things are not so good. I like the material shop. Its a lot easier to use than on P4's materials. But I don't like the fact it freezes up for a few minutes at a time. It seems to do that if you miss hitting the arrow to change objects. It eventually stops and unfreezes but its still maddening. Rendering seems a lot longer. I think its harder to morph things, like change a figures smile etc. But other wise I love the file system and how it works. I can make a file called MFD and put all the textures for it in one folder and its easy to find them.
You can even put all like objects in a folder. Like all cars or all swords etc. Its really nice to be able to do that. Pretty good program although I think it could stand a bit of improvement. After you work with it a bit it gets simplier.

Yes, I had gotten used to that in P5. I have set up seperate runtimes for each character. For most one runtime is fine - but for V3, she was collecting so much stuff I had to seperate her things out into seperate runtimes too - hence I have V3, V3 Characters, V3 Clothes, V3 Hair etc.
In fact I was just checking how much poser stuff I actually do have and was very surprised. Mind you, I do have P5 and P6 both installed onto this drive, and this is a seperate drive that is kept exclusive for Poser. Finished works I save on another drive, and just checking the size of my work folder (out of curiosity) I find it is 10.2GB - blimey can anyone beat this????

I can believe it. But I don't have that much space on my puter its only 40g hd. :( I have to take stuff off all the time so I keep basics in poser 6 and had to get poser 4 off.

*LOL* No Carolyn - my work folder, that is images I have rendered, is 10.2 GB and that is a seperate drive to the one poser is on. My poser drive is running at over 60 GB of stuff. :ambulance . I thinks it's time to cull the work folder.

I know what you mean Wile I would hate to loose what I have I've back it up on a portable drive I've done tons of cleaning out but still have enough to fill it up lol I'm like a pack rat I save everything. very bad habit I guess have gone throug and deleted p4 stuff and characters I don't use those though did go on another drive having a portable one sure makes it easier. You can get an 80 gig portable drive for about 60$ here right now i have so much stuff Ialmost have too run 2 portables plus 3 on the main computer and I bet if I crashed I'd still loose things I didn't want too. Trying to keep poser as clean and mean as possible is a nightmare in its self.
Gosh Angela thats a bunch girl but we have to do what we have to do to save all our hard work. I finally got aroud to doing something for the poser contest will post it tomorrow, Ihope stupid me fell flat on my face today don't even ask lol. Just very bruised how stupid I was. geesh !!

Yikes falling is no fun! Hope your okay Carolyn! Thats what happened to my knees about 3 years ago. I went outside on the porch not paying attention, hit the dogs chain that was kinda burried beneath some fresh snow and boom right down I went on my knees. Kinda messed up the one that was already bad from a car wreck and didn't help the other one much either!. After 3 years I do okay I can walk but still need cane to steady myself.. Oh btw dog passed away couple years ago, don't have to worry about a chain now! :boogie:
