As most of you know more and more people are posting mixed medium images. now wouldn't it be great to have a gallery and forum especially for those creations :) What does everyone think? do you use a combination of 2 programs? If so it would be mixed medium ?? Right?? I know myself I have tons I could post more of.
Just a suggestion with some hope of one:)

Personally I dont agree. I think that there are more than enough gallery categories to go around. Mixed medium can be posted to any gallery category as the galleries are deliberatly not "program" specific - i.e there is no Poser gallery, or Bryce Gallery (unless you count the challenge galleries) it is just the Portrait gallery, Architecture gallery, Atmosphere gallery or the Nudity gallery - non program specific! If your image fits the category you are putting it into - thats enough. Thats the way the owner set it up.
As for a mixed medium forum - is that really required? What do others thinks?

I kinda agree with Angie. I think most mixed medium programs are like the main pic is done with say Vue and the mix comes in when its taken into PS and worked on. Or like me I use poser then go to PS or PSP and sometimes folks will render a pic in Vue or Bryce they made on Poser so its basically a poser pic. You just post your image to your main program gallery.

I don't think we need a seperate gallery. I think the way things are set up now are perfect.

I made a similar suggestion not so long ago, as on first sight I felt that MM was kind-a overlooked, particularly in the challenges, and also that there wasn't a MM forum.
However, on re-examining the site, and having uploaded quite a few MM images myself, I found that using the genres as opposed to the programs used was a very good way of overcoming program-specific media. I like that in fact, because then we are all encouraged, not to see how well a person is or isn't doing technically in their particular program, but we are seeing actual art for the sake of art, no matter in what format, which I think is actually far better.
As was pointed out to me, there are forums for the various programs that might be used and inter-mingled, so again, if we want advice, or to give help in any specific area, the facility to do so is there. I was interested to see forums for even things like Painter and one or two less well-known programs - or let's say less talked about ones.
I also see that many people here are using mixed media, just as I do, most of the time, so in a way, I'd question what's the big deal.. When a non-virtual artist gets to work on their project, they may use many different media to form their painting or drawing - paper, canvas, wood, brushes, type of paints, pencils, all sorts - and they are often mixed together (not the paper and the wood of course!). So I think that digitally we have the same choices, only they're called different things.
So.. Having gone from the same thought as Carolyn only a week ago, I can see that the need is already being met - except, that the challenges themselves tend to be more program specific, which I think can be a bit exclusive at times. Maybe that's the one that needs looking at more?
Hope that helps?

Have you see ppetersen's challenge here (http://www.innertraveler.com/publicgallery/showphoto.php?photo=16261&cat=500&page=1) ?? Any media allowed.

No I did not mean photo shop or psp. I meant like a combo of fractals and say poser. ... but the question has been answered so no problem:)

Ok I saw that, but unfortunately I don't "do" Greek fine art! lol! I think it's a great challenge for anyone who is able. Maybe next time!

Oh I get it Carolyn! lol well I use like the fractols as bg's I make them and use them if the pic needs something like that, fact is all my other programs generaly become bg makers for my poser. Terragen, bryce, vue, fractols, psp, ps all of them. They aren't the main picture though. :) And with the fact that when you upload you can choose a category, most of mine is fantasy, then it works fine no matter how many media you use. :) duh Im rambling.. thats what I get for posting early am before my first cup of diet rite!! :D

I don't have a problem with post work I do it myself at times. maybe its just the fact I don't know that much about doing post work on images. I never really gave it a thought before I bet that is it. Seriously I would not have the creativity all of you have thats more then likely the answer its just me guys ignore me for awhile to many things going on here.
I am sorry if I upset anyone that was not why I asked. ok so I'm jealous :)that you guys can do such beautiful work in your post work and I can't. All of you have such creativity me no..nothing seems to click as to what I would want to do I dunno just ignore me..

You didn't upset me.. besides thats what this is all about.. learning new things, trying new things, constantly improving whether its with postwork or not. I found out I didn't need postwork all the time. But then theres those days.. you know the ones... lol.. Anyway I like trying new things in postwork. Like Angies how to put cloths or textures thing, cuting out an area and filling it with a pattern. Really something I never knew how to do before. So Im learning here.. Im learning alot form everyone. Thats what IT is!! :) Hugs..
