I discovered the fun of using the "floor" function in fractal explorer when I created my pic for the challenge. But I noticed that the fractal becomes a bit blurry when using this function. Is there a way to get it back into focus within the program?

Yeah, it is one of my favorites. I keep discovering new things to try in it all the time. Arend could probably answer my question, but I don't think he looks on the forums. I'll figure it out.

Oh good grief, why would you give up Apo?????????????? Maybe a break from it for a little while will renew your interest. I got to where every flame I see or create looks the same as every other flame out there. The problem is, now I can spot a fractal that was made in Ultra Fractal, and ones that are done in Fractal Explorer. Maybe it's a case of needing to be away from it all for a while. Come to think of it, all of the V3 renders are starting to look alike too. LMAO!!!! Yikes, where to go now????? Maybe back to painting in PSP......or getting some more exercise.......or cleaning up horse poo......*wanders away wondering what to do with herself*

Oh..almost forgot. Someone asked if there were any good Fractal Explorer sites. I lost the URL to the newsletter group, and that was the only one I knew of. Anyone know of some good places to send a newbie to FE????

I read your question about the floor function
but have no idea what you mean with that "floor function"
Have you use the FE 3d landscape tool ?
That gives most of the time that blurry render but can be also give a extra dimension to the image :-)
Sorry that i not can help you further

I dont' know if this help you but you can change the values of the filter limit for more high values, or change the bailout values to the limit or check the N-set method or change the Max interation or try tweak the parameters on the visual selecton widow preview.
It's difficult say what works because each fractal is an case a part and you don't give any date. What transform you use? The filter only is cheked or not? Your fractal have one or two parameters functions?
Sorry I can be more especific to help you. Try the first part.

Yikes, I forgot this question was here. I figured it out by tweeking things a little (as pakar suggested) It was more a matter of getting things just right. LOL Arend, I do notice that the 3D function can blur and image, but it is one of my favorite features..that and being able to add texture within the program. No need for PSP. I have noticed though, that the newest version has some problems with 3D. The view screen won't render completely unless I move a camera. The version before this one didn't do that.

Here is a screen cap of what I am talking about "floor function". it works with many parameters to get that broken up look.
